
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie that will take place Tuesday, Aug. 5.
Some neighborhoods will host block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts and various other community events with safety demonstrations, seminars, youth events, visits from emergency personnel, and exhibits.
Aurora
•Aurora Fifth Ward’s family-friendly will take place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Washington Middle School, 231 S. Constitution Drive in Aurora.
Pizza and refreshments will be provided. There will be a DJ and activities for kids. A local chef will demonstrate how to make focaccia bread and dough from scratch.
•Aurora will be host to an additional 27 events, including: Aurora Township, 313 Gale Street, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.; New England Congregational Church, 406 W. Galena Boulevard, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.; West Park Neighbors, Greenman Elementary School, 729 W., Galena Boulevard, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m..

Batavia
From 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Peg Bond Center, 151 N. Island Avenue.
There will be games, raffles, giveaways, and community resources. Emergency vehicles will be on site along with a bounce house. Food and ice will be available for purchase.
Elgin
Elgin will be host to several events: 310 N. Spring Street, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.; Division and Chapel, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.; 783 W. Highland Avenue, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.; DuPage Court, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.; 1540 Mulberry Lane, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.; 991 Deborah venue, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.; 1885 Lin Lor Lane, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.; 899 Jake Street, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m..
Geneva
The Geneva Police Department will have its event from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Geneva High School’s Burgess Field, 1482 Gray Street.
The event will have many children’s activities, music, food, and giveaways.
Montgomery
In conjunction with the local fire departments that service Montgomery residents, the Village of Montgomery Police Department will visit nine locations throughout the community between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.. Residents are welcome to join the officers to view police cars and fire trucks, and participate in activities.

•Naperville’s National Night Out festivities will include a free community kick-off celebration Monday, Aug. 4 starting at 6:30 p.m. and will culminate with a free outdoor showing of a family-friendly movie at sunset at the Fry Family YMCA, 2120 95th Street, Naperville.
•Thirty-nine neighborhoods throughout the community will hold events between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, including: Catalpa/Basswood, 1105 Catalpa Lane from 6 to 9 p.m.; Fontenaix, 944 Greensboro Court from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.; and Naper Commons, 2323 Weatherbee Lane from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m..

Oswego
The Oswego Police Department will host an event from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Prairie Point Park, 4120 Plainfield Road, Oswego.
St. Charles
Kane County Sheriff’s Office invites residents to its annual National Night Out event from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at 37W755 Route 38 in St. Charles.
There will be free food (while supplies last), kids’ activities, music community vendors, emergency vehicles on display. drones and representatives from the Bomb Unit, S.W.A.T., K9, Patrol, Office of Emergency Management, KDOT, Coroner and more.
South Elgin
There will be Back to School Night out, Friday, Aug. 1 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Panton Mill Park, corner of Prairie Street and N. Water Street. The event will have food trucks, music, and school supplies.
