In view: The final week of the regular season Friday, Oct. 19 will provide games with both conference championship implications and playoff qualifications. The playoff pairings in eight classes will be released early Saturday evening and first-round games will be played October 26-27. Montini Catholic and Brother Rice, each was 8-0 through week eight, and will play at Montini in Lombard for Chicago Catholic League Blue championship and undefeated regular season. Teams with 4-4 records will play Friday, Oct. 19 to be eligible for playoff berths with victories, to include St. Charles East, Wheaton North, Joliet Catholic Academy, Dundee-Crown, Fenton, Larkin, Glenbard South, Downers Grove North, and Downers Grove South. St. Edward clinched the Metro Suburban Red with a 4-4 overall record. Naperville Central won the DuPage Valley Conference championship in Friday’s victory over Waubonsie Valley. Conference championships are on the line in DuKane, Northern Illinois Big 12 East, Southwest Prairie, and West Suburban Silver.
