Marmion Academy in Aurora will present its Spring musical Seussical Friday at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday at 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Academy’s Alumni Hall at 1000 Butterfield Road in Aurora. Reserved seating tickets are $10.; limited seating will be available at the door.
A musical perfect for the whole family, Seussical will take everyone into the world of Dr. Seuss, where there will be beloved characters, including The Cat in the Hat (Louie Auriemma of Aurora), Horton the Elephant (Coley Weed of Sugar Grove), Gertrude McFuzz (Hannah Noel of Sugar Grove), Lazy Mayzie (Marissa Sepulveda of Aurora), and JoJo (Ethan Bello of North Aurora). The Cat in the Hat will guide the audience into The Jungle of Nool where lives Horton, the kind hearted elephant who discovers a speck of dust containing Whoville. Despite all odds, Horton and Gertrude band together to save the Who’s and restore peace and unity to the Jungle of Nool. Now one of the most widely produced musicals in the country, Seussical weaves a story of friendship, loyalty and love. Charming Seussical teaches us the power of being unique, and the importance of fighting for your beliefs.
The 60-member cast and crew consists of students from Marmion Academy and Rosary High School, as well as grade school children.
