Magical Starlight Theatre will present four outdoor performances of “A Shopper’s Christmas Carol” at the Naperville Riverwalk Amphitheatre December 11 and 12. The script follows the Charles Dickens story, “A Christmas Carol,” with adaptations by Paul Mapes, a local writer.
“We are so excited to be spreading holiday cheer to the community with this enduring story of transformation and the power of kindness and charity,” said Kris Visher, director. “To have the opportunity to share this classic Dickens tale through drama and music is truly a privilege.”
The community is invited to attend the free performances, which will run for approximately 45 minutes. Seating is limited, and will be available on a first come, first served basis. Please dress for the weather and bring a chair and/or blanket. A sign language interpreter will be present at both Sunday, Dec. 12 performances. The 40-member cast features talented actors from the community, including both new and returning participants in Magical Starlight Theatre’s family-friendly productions.
As announced last Summer, the Naperville Park District has decided not to offer a Magical Starlight Theatre production in January 2022. Although COVID restrictions in Phase 5 of the Restore Illinois Plan allow more freedom for the performing arts, uncertainty still remains regarding the availability of auditorium space in the Naperville school districts.
Magical Starlight Theatre is a program of the Naperville Park District, providing family-oriented community theater since 1994.
