Aurora nonprofit Simply Destinee is inviting the community to the family-friendly Caféton con Ron, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 13 at Two Brothers Roundhouse, 205 N Broadway, Aurora.
The event will blends café culture with reggaeton beats for a unique daytime party where guests can enjoy fresh artisan coffee and spirits, craft beers, first-rate food from the Roundhouse, and Latin music spun live by DJs, all in a lively atmosphere designed to bring people together for a cause.
“Caféton con Ron isn’t just a fundraiser—it’s a celebration of community, culture, and hope,” said Martin Luna-Espinoza, executive director of Simply Destinee. “Every dollar raised helps us empower young people with tools to care for themselves and others.”
Proceeds from the event will support the launch of Simply Destinee’s new initiative, Locally G.R.O.W.N. (Getting Rid of Old Ways Now). The program aims to help teens and young adults in Aurora transition into adulthood and step into leadership roles in their communities. Its first major goal is to train participants as Teen Mental Health First Aiders in honor of Suicide Awareness Month this September.
“Locally G.R.O.W.N. represents a critical step in ensuring our youth not only survive but thrive,” saidNick Thompson, Board President. “By equipping teens with mental health first aid skills, we’re investing in a stronger, healthier, and more resilient community for the future.”
Simply Destinee has long been known for using dance and creative expression to promote suicide awareness and help local youth build confidence and emotional wellness. With Caféton con Ron, the group hopes to raise vital funds while offering the community a fun and meaningful way to get involved.
Tickets are available now on Eventbrite.com. Businesses and individuals interested in sponsoring Caféton con Ron or learning more about Locally G.R.O.W.N. can reach Martin Luna-Espinoza at 331-643-6001.
