Suicide Prevention Services will host Spring into Art, an inaugural fundraiser this spring that will help the Fox Valley organization to continue its life-saving work.

Spring into Art will be an evening of art, food, and spirited competition Thursday, March 19 at Society 57, 100 S. River St. in downtown Aurora. The event space will turn into an art gallery, and each attendee will be able to “spring” up and claim their favorite piece of donated art before someone else does.

The fundraiser will help bring hope, healing, and connection to individuals and families when they need it most, said director Stephanie Weber.

Weber knows the bleak statistics of suicide; that it is the second leading cause of death among teens, and about 135 people die by suicide each day. Weber’s mom died by suicide in 1979. This is why Suicide Prevention Services of America (SPSA) has a clear mission to open minds, save lives, and restore hope, and they are seeking artists to help.

Sponsored by Jenna’s Hope, the event will begin at 5:30 p.m. and will feature valuable, original pieces of art from local and regional artists.

Attendees will be able to enjoy food by Rent A Chef and Polly Ann Cakes, a cocktail by Whiskey Acres, and take home incredible art to add to their walls while helping to bring hope and renewal to Fox Valley communities.

SPSA is proud to be one of only seven agencies in the US offering comprehensive suicide prevention, intervention, and postvention services under one roof along with Stone Manor Counseling with offices in Aurora and Batavia.
