The city of Aurora will be painted green for the annual Daniel D. Dolan St. Patrick’s Day Parade & Irish Flag Raising at 11 a.m. Sunday, March 16. The shamrockin’ celebration will take place in downtown Aurora, centered on Downer Place between Water Street and Stolp Avenue. The parade will step off at Water Street and Downer Place, marching west to Stolp Avenue before reaching the main stage at the GAR Museum, 23 E. Downer Place.
When the parade wraps up, the Irish Flag-Raising Ceremony will take center stage! The heartfelt tribute will include a presentation of the Emerald Excellence Awards, a dazzling performance by the McNulty Irish Dancers, and the hoisting of the Irish flag by the Dolan Family, honoring the legacy of the parade’s namesake and Aurora icon, the late Mr. Daniel D. Dolan.
After the ceremony, downtown bars and restaurants will be alive with Irish cheer.
