State representative Stephanie Kifowit, D-Oswego, will be host to the annual Illinois State budget information session to help families better understand the State budget. The event will be Thursday, Oct. 18 at 6 p.m. at the Aurora Library Eola Road Branch, 555 S. Eola Road in Aurora. Admission is free.
“It’s important for residents to know exactly how the budget affects them and discuss how Illinois can recover from the devastating effects of the two-year budget impasse,” said Kifowit. “This presentation is based on facts and figures that show the complete and truthful picture of the finances of the State of Illinois.”
Kifowit’s State budget information session will feature Center for Tax and Budget Accountability executive director Ralph Martire.

Halloween at Aurora City Hall Oct. 31
Aurora families are invited to participate in trick-or-treat at Aurora City Hall on Halloween from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31. City Hall will be host to costumed trick-or-treaters to visit government departments on all five floors for candy, treats, and special handouts.
“Last year, we had more than 1,000 visitors to City Hall on Halloween,” said Richard C. Irvin, mayor. “We look forward to welcoming even more this year. Parents and children will have an opportunity to tour City Hall as they stop in each department and get an early start to the evening Halloween activities.”
Official citywide trick-or-treating hours in
Aurora will begin at 4 p.m. and end at 7:30 p.m..
Mayor Irvin and city government staff members will be dressed for the occasion and will greet trick-or-treaters throughout the building.
Aurora City Hall is at 44 E. Downer Place.
