State representative Stephanie Kifowit (D-Oswego), State representative Barbara Hernandez (D-Aurora), and State senator Linda Holmes (D-Aurora) have secured $400,000 in state grant money for the funding of the Aurora Public Library District’s (APLD) new bookmobile. State legislators recently joined the APLD) and members of the community for a check presentation ceremony at the Santori Library. in Aurora.
Kifowit (D-Oswego) expressed her enthusiasm for this project, stating, “The Aurora Public Library District’s bookmobile enriches lives, fosters literacy, and kindles the joy of reading in residents all across Aurora. It plays an indispensable role in our community, especially for the young readers. This grant marks a new chapter in enhancing its services to better serve the people of Aurora.”
The newly-acquired bookmobile will feature a range of innovative features to benefit the residents of Aurora. Designed with inclusivity in mind, it is equipped with an easy-access wheelchair lift, extra-wide aisles, and a height-leveling system at the entrance. Inside, patrons will find a wealth of resources, including computers, scanners, printers, face-out shelving for effortless browsing, and comfortable seating areas.
