Richard Irvin, mayor of Aurora, delivers the State of the City Tuesday at the Paramount Theatre in downtown Aurora. He stressed his theme of One Aurora as the 59th mayor of Aurora. The slide show over his right shoulder reflects his administration’s business attitude, he said. Other items of accomplishments in his address, included: Finalized sale of the Fox Valley golf course, owned by the city government; creation of 843 more parking spaces at the Aurora Transportation Center; intention to sue owners of former and abandoned Copley Hospital building; visits to approximately 25 businesses and to approximately 50 schools. He said, “There is something happening here, can you feel it?” The event was sponsored by the Aurora Regional Chamber, Aurora Hispanic Chamber, and Quad County African American Chamber.
