The teachers strike in Geneva School District 304 to speed up negotiations came to a conclusion last weekend with a tentative agreement. Two-thirds of the teachers voted Monday to accept the agreement and return to schools. The agreement was for five years.
Prolonged negotiations and the strike which started Tuesday, Dec. 4 promoted a 12-hour negotiating session to include a federal mediator that brought the settlement.
All District 304 school activities were either postponed or canceled as a result of the strike. The teachers had been working without a contract until the start of the strike.
