Joel Frieders, Yorkville alderman and founder of NSPAMP (National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month Proclamation Project), presents a talk on suicide prevention sponsored by the Oswego Lions Club in a free community event at the Montgomery Campus of the Oswego Public Library Friday, Nov. 2. He relentlessly has been an advocate for suicide prevention in a proactive probe to ignite a conversation on mental health not only in Fox Valley area communities, but in cities and towns in multiple states. As a Yorkville City Council member, he has chosen to use his platform with community government to raise the visibility and break the silence of suicide. It was the topic of his talk.
