It’s been my privilege to represent the residents of Kane County’s 4th District (Aurora) for the last four years. In the March 17 Democratic Primary Election one of the offices you will cast a vote for is Kane County Board chair. Please join me in supporting Corinne Pierog.

As vice chair of the Kane County Board, I’ve had a closer view of the chairman’s position and have observed what it takes to lead the Kane County Board to the benefit of residents. An effective County Board chair must be respectful of the elected members of the County Board and work collaboratively. The chair must be transparent and committed to keeping lines of communication open. The County Board chair must have the ability to disagree without being disagreeable and stay focused on the County’s top priorities.

Corinne is thoughtful, experienced, and the best prepared to be our next County Board chair.

Corinne has been active in Kane County for 20 years. She served two terms on the St. Charles D303 Board of Education and on the Board of the United Way of Central Kane County. She is finance chair of Age Guide (Northeastern Illinois Agency on Aging) and is on the St. Charles Housing Commission. She is the founding chair of the Kane County Democratic Women and is the 1st vice chair of the Kane County Democrats.

Corinne’s vision for Kane County includes increased revenue that supports valued programs and services, smart growth that maintains green space and natural resources, and safe, stable, communities that offer opportunities for families and businesses alike.

I trust Corinne to do what is right and what is needed for the residents of Kane County. March 17 please vote for Corinne Pierog for Kane County Board chair.

Angela Clay Thomas is vice chair of the Kane County Board, District 4.
