The Aurora Council Navy League received a lovely than-you card [with colors of the American flag on the outside] from Eva Luckinbill on her late husband’s Herschel’s passing. As you may know they had just moved to Tennessee from Montgomery a few months earlier. Here is what the card read:
Printed on the card:
“The family of Herschel Leray Luckinbill Acknowledges With grateful appreciation Your kind expression Of Sympathy.”
On the card she wrote:
“Dear Friends:
“The beautiful peace lily sits in the dining room next to the new table
“Herschel and I picked out the Sunday before he passed. It is so true-: Life can change in an instant. Thank you for your kind words and support these past weeks and all the years you worked with Herschel for veteran’s causes. “The Navy League and the 786 Club are part of what kept him going.
“Gratefully, Eva
May Herschel rest in God’s hands for eternity. Amen.
