Dear Oswego signers of my petition to run for Oswego Village trustee. Whether I spoke with you personally, or you signed because an advocate asked you, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your many signatures will allow me to be on the ballot for the election April 6, 2021.

Some of you talked to me about your concerns and questioned what does a trustee do? One of my simplest answers was that if elected being one of six trustees and the mayor, I would help to decide how to spend your tax money. Working with other entities, the Village Board has input to determine services such as leaf pick-up, snow-plowing, water service and costs, and other service decisions that matter to you.

I live here too, so I care how our tax money is spent. I care about our climate and the environment and growth of our economic base, safety, and support of our citizens and businesses, and good schools for our students to attend. I favor wearing a mask and getting the COVID-19 vaccine for everyone’s health. I care about all those I met through the Oswego Senior Center. I want to share information with you that matters to you. I want to hear what you have to say. I care about humanity and what I can do to make all of our lives better.

When I met you, I met many of your dogs, big small, old, young, but everyone friendly and loving to be recognized. Hello to all those tail-wagging dogs whose names I learned: Service dog Bella, Callie, Rocky, Roxie, Gilley, Mae Mae, Hope, Simba, Hugo, Heidi, Bruno, Paxton, Barney, Shaggy, and Sophie, and all the others whose names I don’t know.

I hope to learn more about everyone including those I haven’t met, yet. Working together we can do things that we cannot do alone. Let’s keep in touch as I campaign for your vote April 6, 2021.
