For more than two hundred and thirty years
Our Constitution has performed quite well,
Through all our triumphs, heartaches, blood and tears,
It has been front and center through every spell.
In truth, it does not subjugate at all;
But that is where a basic danger lies.
It succinctly makes Liberty its call.
Which we, the people must value, if wise.
But Liberty cannot be doled by force;
It’s something we, the people must accept
And value, built into our chosen course.
With methods how to use it made adept.
Our Liberty does have a ‘sacred saint,’
Of which, to which for which we’re meant to serve.
It is, (and should be), quite a common plaint–
A motivated Patriotic verve!
As all leaders who lead will stand defined;
The first to ‘throw the gauntlet’ sounds the call;
That’s done with we, the people close behind;
America, our Constitution, standing tall!
