Thanksgiving Day, Small Business Saturday, Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday! Then rest?
Our society stays busy and in all seriousness all for good causes. Societies function better when their members believe in the world around them, in making a difference, and in helping others
There are many facets in our lives and the majority of us want to improve society and leave the world in a better place than found. So often it is the few who make noise, insist on having their way, even though it is counter-productive who make it difficult for the rest of us. We must find legal ways to blunt their nastiness. In a sense, that what the Christmas holidays are all about: Doing better, helping others, being optimistic, and sharing with family and friends. That is just the secular view with no direct religious overtones. Yet, there are connections between the two, even though it can stimulate an argument about methodology.
• Clear and Concise, Week 48, Year 2: It is truly better to give than receive. It most often is a benefit derived by the giver more than the receiver. Those who insist, demand, demean, often end up boiling in their own stew with an internal combustion the likely results. Honey often is better than vinegar. The velvet touch improves rather than the hammer. Experience can be a better teacher than learning the hard way with forces bumping into each other. Peace is light. Darkness devours. The glass is extended if it is half full, because it can become filled. The half-empty glass is draining of energy, time, caring. We can feel renewed and move onward and upward. It is joy, instead of sorrow!
