What do you know, or think you know, about most slavery?
The first term that should come to mind is your dependency.
But here is something you’d be smart to really understand;
The way our Constitution was delivered to this land.
It was released for public viewing, under no dictate;
Which meant, for instance, we, the people, would decide its fate.
On top of that, it had to be accepted, ratified,
By no less nine of the thirteen, duly satisfied.
We were not told ‘this would be law,’ we had to vote on it;
So there it was, he laws by which we would be governed, every bit.
Of course, it was assiduously discussed, and well perused;
The people knew full well to what it was they would be fused.
Now look to what has happened since, to what was brought about;
That, as a nation, we’ve excelled, of this there is no doubt.
We had to deal with what was prevalent, no looking back;
We were allowed to seek our own way; verve we did not lack.
