Kane County Board chair person, Corinne Pierog, announced the appointment of St. Charles resident Todd Wallace as the new District 13 Kane County Board member. Wallace, an attorney and St. Charles Township trustee since 2011, fills the vacancy of former Board member Steve Weber who was elected as 5th Ward alderman in St. Charles.
“Commissioner Wallace brings a wealth of knowledge to the Board both as an attorney in the private sector and as a long-time St. Charles resident and civic volunteer,” Pierog said. “As chairman of the St. Charles Planning Commission since 2004, and as a St. Charles Township Trustee since 2011, his vast experience in different aspects of government will inform and enhance our Board and serve residents of District 13 well.”
Wallace is a 1993 graduate of St. Charles High School, and received his Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural and environmental economics from the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana and his juris doctor degree from the Chicago-Kent College of Law.
He is a vice-president and trust officer at The State Bank of Geneva in Geneva. Previously, he was a solo practitioner in Geneva, an associate attorney with firms in St. Charles and Elgin, and a real estate broker.
District 13 generally covers the near West Side of Geneva and St. Charles with a small portion in St. Charles on the East Side of the Fox River. Illinois law provides that a vacancy on the County Board is filled by appointment by the chair person of the County Board with the advice and consent of the County Board to serve the remainder of the term. Wallace will serve until the term expires in December 2022.
