It is only part of the sports whirl with the National Football League Super Bowl Feb. 12, college basketball tournaments after conference showdowns in men’s and women’s, the National Basketball Association. Sports of all sorts are part of our legacy and urgency. Keeping sports in the correct perspective can be Job 1!
Can the University of Illinois men’s basketball team move above and stay above the .500 level? Keep improving? Can Northwestern men’s basketball team stay afloat? Following two games postponed because of COVID considerations, the Wildcats returned to playing games Monday this week with an impressive 66-63 victory against Wisconsin. Remember, Wisconsin and Illinois were Big Ten co-champions last season.
Duly noted: High school Winter sports State tournament dates are the following. Boys bowling in O’Fallon in southern part of the State, January 27-28; girls bowling in the north end in Rockford, February 17-18; girls gymnastics, in Palatine, February 17-18; boys individual wrestling in Champaign, February 16-18; boys dual meet wrestling in Champaign, February 24-25; girls wrestling, in Bloomington, February 24-25; girls basketball in Bloomington, March 2-4, boys basketball in Bloomington, March 9-11, each of the latter two in four classes, 1A through 4A over three days each week. Television portrayal would be helpful to fans.
