‘Toys From the Attic’ special exhibit at Little White School Museum

The Little White School Museum at 72 Polk Street (Jackson at Polk) in Oswego this Christmas holiday season and has a special vintage toy and game exhibit. Attendees can pick up some special Oswego-related gift items for those hard-to-buy-for friends and relatives.

“Toys From the Attic,” the museum’s special holiday seasonal exhibit features boys’ and girls’ toys from days gone by that youngsters found under their Christmas trees. From clamp-on ice skates to a working miniature steam engine to toy trains to dolls to wooden toys and tops, visitors will enjoy this exhibit of toys selected from the museum’s collections by museum assistant Sarah Kimes. The exhibit will run through the winter holiday season.

Visitors will find a variety of Oswego-marked gift items, from pottery and books on history along with this year’s Cat’s Meow architectural miniature, on sale through the season in the museum store. This year’s Cat’s Meow building is the landmark Church of the Good Shepherd United Methodist at Madison and Washington streets. It is now available with others in the museum’s series of architectural miniatures of familiar Oswego buildings. Each miniature is priced at $20 and includes a brief building history on the back. Supplies of the miniatures are limited.
