NASCAR, Cup Series, Würth 400, Dover Motor Speedway, Dover, Del., Monday, May 1.
Martin Truex Jr. had a long-overdue victory at his, what some would call, home track. Following Truex, Jr. was Ross Chastain in second, Ryan Blaney in third, William Byron in fourth, and Denny Hamlin in fifth.
The race was started a day late due to rain.
William Byron won the first stage.
Kyle Larson was involved in a wreck which put him down 35 laps by the middle of the second stage.
Ross Chastain won the second stage.
In the final stage Chastain had the lead for 98 laps until Truex, Jr. took over the lead.
There was a caution with 12 laps to when Joey Logano crashed hard into the wall. Logano’s car was towed to the garage, and he was unable to finish.
Truex, Jr. held off Chastain for the victory. It was Truex, Jr’s fourth career win at this track
Alex Bowman wrecked in a Sprint car race last week in Iowa: He injured his vertebrae and will not be racing for a while.
NASCAR, Cup Series, Geico 500 Talladega Superspeedway, Talladega. Ala., Sunday, April 23.
Kyle Busch only led once during the final part, but won the race followed by Blaney in second, Chris Buescher in third, Chase Briscoe in fourth, and Brad Keselowski in fifth.
Aric Almirola won outside poll and Hamlin started inside.
During the second lap of the race Mike McDowell wrecked his car when he spun out into the wall.
Chase Elliot, who is back after healing from a snowboarding accident, won the first stage.
Almirillo won the second Stage.
Harrison Burtin spun out and race five other cars were involved.
During the first Green White Checker, Larson and Ryan Preece collided and took out four other cars.
Kyle Busch got ahead for the victory.
NASCAR, Cup Series, Noco 400, Martinsville Speedway, Martinsville, Va., Sunday, April 16.
Larson won followed by Logano in second, Truex, Jr. in third, Hamlin in fourth, and Ryan Brisco in fifth.
Larson won the first stage.
Harvick won the second stage.
With 50 laps to go Briscole was ahead of Larson when JJ Yeley hit the wall in turn three. After pit stop action Logano took the lead.
With 27 laps to go Larson took the lead from Logano and stayed there until the checkered flag.
After the victory Larson did a burn out around the entire track!
The race was Chase Elliott’s first short track back from his injuries.
NASCAR, Cup Series, Food City Dirt Race, Bristol Motor Speedway Dirt, Bristol, Tenn., Sunday April 9.
Christopher Bell led more than 50 laps on the dirt covered track in the third stage to win the race. In second place was Tyler Reddick, Austin Dillon in third, Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. in fourth, Chase Briscoe in fifth.
That’s right, dirt was brought in to lay on top of the asphalt track at Bristol.
Stage one was won by Larson, who led 75 laps.
In stage two Logano spun out on lap 104 and damaged his car then on lap 126 Logano’s old teammate, Keselowski, spun out a second time.
Second stage winner was Tyler Reddick over Austin Dillon.
During the final stage Larson spun out and went into last place and got slammed by Ryan Preese that put Larson out of the race! Bell took the lead with approximately 50 laps to go to win.
