Following guidance from the CDC to pause on the usage of Johnson & Johnson vaccines, the State of Illinois has canceled the clinic scheduled Tuesday, April 13, at the State-run Mass Vaccination Site at 970 N. Lake Street in Aurora.

The 1,000 appointments scheduled for today can be rescheduled for an upcoming vaccination clinic where the Moderna or Pfizer vaccines will be used. There we no additional Johnson & Johnson clinics scheduled after today.

We are encouraging anyone who took the Johnson & Johnson vaccine in recent days to seek medical attention if they have concerns. While these cases may be rare, please make it a priority to visit a healthcare provider immediately.

We look forward to a thorough review of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine by federal health officials. In the meantime, we will continue to support vaccine rollout efforts where vaccines developed by Pfizer and Moderna are used.

The State has appointments available this week with the Pfizer vaccine at www.kanevax.org.

The Mass Vaccination Clinic with Jewel-Osco using the Pfizer vaccine scheduled for today at Fox Valley Mall is still open. However, appointment slots are full.
