• Batavia resident Zachary Ferguson, 22, is majoring in marketing with a minor in psychology. He said, “I have had to overcome many hardships in my life due to ADHD. I have chosen Fox Valley Habitat for Humanity to do my internship because I am very fond of the vision they have to make this community a better place.

“I hope to learn how this business functions and what they do behind the scenes to make it all happen. I look forward to meeting all the future homeowners and those volunteers who work with Habitat.

“I hope we can accomplish much as we expand our outreach to all of those in need and that we can be successful in our ever-expanding endeavors,” Ferguson said.

• Diana Ayala, a senior, is pursuing a degree in communications, media, and professional writing. She serves as president of Lambda Pi Eta communication honor society and vice president of digital communication for Aurora University’s American Marketing Association chapter.

She said, “I am excited for the opportunity to learn as much as possible at Fox Valley Habitat while using my social media and writing skills. In my free time, I love to paint, read, and practice my editing skills for photography and videos.

“My latest hobby is learning how to play the ocarina. My interests include video games, public relations, and social media. I look forward to working with the team,” Ayala said.
