With so many folks confined to their homes due to the COVID-19 pandemic, now more than ever, many of us are looking to make our living spaces something special. Whether someone recently has purchased a new home or simply wants to refresh an existing space, the Aurora Public Library District’s (APLD) upcoming program “Understanding Paint Colors and Lighting” can provide insight into making the right choices for each room.
Picking a paint color is a daunting task. With so many choices, you’re probably wondering which blue is the right blue for you? In this program you’ll learn about the complexities of color and how to use it to best impact in your home. Learn what aspects to consider when selecting a paint and understand the interplay between paint color and light. Did you know different types of light bulbs along with the light inside and outside your home can change the colors you see? Adult services programmer, Collin Benson, wants attendees to come away with ideas and fresh concepts to apply to their own spaces. He adds, “We encourage attendees to ask questions and even bring pictures of a space they’re thinking of painting.”
The presenter for this program, GraceAnn Simoni of Staging Redesign Group, is the Midwest’s premier award-winning real estate staging expert. GraceAnn brings many years of experience in the Chicagoland area with interior consulting and room staging. GraceAnn previously presented a redesign program at the library where attendees were shown different techniques to revitalize and refresh rooms for a whole new look without making any new purchases. The Library hopes these home design programs appeal to both diy-ers and new homeowners in the community who are looking for ways to change up their living spaces.
The “Understanding Paint Colors and Lighting” program will be held on Tuesday, March 8 at 6:30 p.m.. Participants may attend in-person at the Eola Road Branch or virtually through Zoom.
