Several area veterans will speak about their experiences in military service during the annual Veterans Day Tribute program Sunday, Nov. 9 at the Chapel on the Green, 107 West Center Street, Yorkville.
They include Chuck Ashley, who served in the Air Force from 1966 to 1969; Nancy Judge, who served in the Air Force from 1985 to 2015; Wayland Middendorf, who served in the Marines from 1984 to 1988, the Army Reserves from 1988 to 1994 and from 1999 to 2007, and the Army National Guard from 1994 to 1999; Sherry Reherman Story, who served in the Army from 1963 to 1966.
In addition, family members of the late Emil “Bud” Farren, a prisoner of war in Germany, will tell the story of his service in the Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1945.
The program will begin at 2 p.m.. Doors will be open at 1 p.m. for visiting or viewing military artifacts and memorabilia.
The program will be followed by a social hour with refreshments and time to visit and tour the historic building .
