Village of Montgomery trustees approved a six-year contract with LSR Clean Sweep, LLC of West Chicago, formerly Hoving Clean Sweep, at the Montgomery Village Board meeting Monday. Trustees approved a resolution authorizing a petition to the Illinois Commerce Commission (ICC) for additional funds in the amount of $39,330.85 to complete the Light Road Grade Crossing Project improvements where it crosses the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad. In March 2012, the Village of Montgomery executed Stipulated Agreement 1640 with the ICC. The proposed improvements consisted of installing a new crossing surface, automatic flashing light signals, and gates and new asphalt roadway approaches that meet the minimum requirements as set forth by the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT). Per the agreement with the ICC, the Village is responsible for the roadway improvements and will be reimbursed for all associated engineering and construction costs. Additional funding is requested for redesign effort, associated land acquisition, construction costs and construction engineering fees. Jason Crane/The Voice
