Bill Hannah, finance director for the Village of North Aurora, presents information about North Aurora’s electric aggregation program at the North Aurora Village Board meeting Monday. The program, in place since approved by voters in a 2011 referendum, is set to expire in September. Dynegy is an independent seller of power and energy service and is certified as an alternative retail electricity supplier by the Illinois Commerce Commission. The ComEd price-to-compare rate is 7.75 cents per kwh and can fluctuate slightly. The Dynegy rate locks in at 7.7 cents per kwh. The Village Board approved to continue with Dynegy, 4-1 with trustee Mark Carroll voting against. ComEd delivers the energy purchased by Dynegy. Approved was an agreement with Mooseheart for emergency water connection if Mooseheart has a well malfunction, they can purchase water at regular rates from North Aurora.
