Dear editor;
I am a representative of many of the citizens of Aurora. We want to give our viewpoint on the issue of Wayside Cross Mission.
The mayor, Richard Irvin, and his group have a dream to change Aurora from a fine factory town to a place for the artsy and the elites. He has redlined downtown to start this change, and Wayside is inside the circle. It has nothing to do with sex offenders and a playground. He is manipulating the law. The sex offenders are no threats and the park never has been a playground.
I have read about cities doing this redlining to become more artsy and elite. It is called socioeconomic redlining and it is wrong.
The Mission is an asset to the Community. The mayor is starting with the sex offenders with the ultimate goal of moving the Mission out of downtown for the elites.
It is wrong. It is fearmongering, and we want to be heard.
