Warehouse 55 will open for the holidays at a new location this fall in downtown Batavia. The heralded vintage showroom will relocate from Aurora to a one-story historic warehouse building at 160 1st Street this October.

Known for its well-curated mix of modern, contemporary, and antique decor and furnishings, Warehouse 55 will bring nearly 50 dealers to the new location.

“For years, we’ve needed all one floor. The building is gorgeous,” said Mindy Schloss, manager of Warehouse 55 of the new digs in Batavia. Schloss said they grew to fill two floors at the location they’ll be leaving at 55 S. Lake St. in downtown Aurora.

They opened with 30 vendors in September 2019 after owner Mark Allen Shouldeen stumbled upon the historic building. They expanded over their first five years to maintain about 50 vendors once they added the second floor. They also have a second, boutique location in Chicago.

At the new space, they will have close to 8,000-square-feet on one level, bringing all of the vendors to one floor. Their last day in Aurora will be October 5.

Warehouse 55 offers a mix of vintage, antiques, collectibles, retro and repurposed furnishings, clothing, and new home decor. The curated offerings have attracted Windy City Rehab on HGTV who visited for a couple of episodes with host Alison Victoria.

They will celebrate their grand opening Saturday, Oct. 18 with the store decorated for Christmas. Their popular holiday market will be held on the weekend of October 24. They will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m..
