A proud musical tradition will continue on Thanksgiving Day.
The Macy’s Great American Marching Band (MGAMB) will perform at the 99th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Honoring America’s finest high school musicians, color guard members, and dancers, the band will be comprised of select students from across the United States.
Two students from West Aurora High School Emily Lesniak, senior, saxophone, and her brother, Asher Lesniak, junior, trumpet, will join with 180 other musicians and 40 dancers and flag bearers.
The prestigious band will take an honor position among the gigantic helium balloons and impressive floats. The parade will step-off at 8:30 a.m. from Central Park, and will be cheered on by the three million spectators lining the parade route. Arriving at Macy’s Herald Square, the band will perform for the grandstand audience with more than 50 million TV viewers watching on NBC.
