At the May 23, meeting, the Naperville Park District Board of Commissioners approved the naming of the synthetic turf field at Knoch Park, “Wintrust Athletic Field.” The Park Board approved the naming by resolution following a 60-day consideration period required by the Park District’s policies, which began March 14.
Earlier this year, Naperville Park District staff met with representatives from Wintrust/Naperville Bank and Trust to discuss the initiation of a major sponsorship agreement between the two organizations. The naming of the field, which will be in effect for the term of the five-year agreement, is included as part of an overall partnership between the Park District and Wintrust/Naperville Bank and Trust. During the term of the agreement, the synthetic turf field at Knoch Park will be known as “Wintrust Athletic Field.” Along with the field naming, a sign will be installed at Knoch Park on the west side of the field along West Street. The sign will identify the park and field name, as well as highlight the partnership between the Park District and School District 203.
