Woman’s Club of Aurora members are collecting gift cards for veterans at the Tuesday, Nov. 11 luncheon and meeting at Lincoln Inn Banquets, 1345 S. Batavia Avenue (Route 31), Batavia. This annual collection is distributed at the North Aurora Veterans Clinic with additional going to the Homeless Veterans, Wheaton facility. This annual collection averaging $1,200 is chaired by Linda Wilson. The December food collection will be directed to the Veterans Food Pantry.
The program following the luncheon on the 11th will be presented by Hadi Finerty, director of community engagement for the Alzheimer Association, Illinois Chapter.
Every year since through club philanthropies, fundraising events and scholarships members work toward community improvement by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service. Guests throughout the area, besides Aurora proper, are welcome to attend monthly meetings on the second Tuesday at noon.
