I never knew we had it so good, ‘til I saw it ghastly;
For this pandemic was so bad, too many saw it lastly.
Yankee Doodle watch your step, Yankee Doodle Dandy
Mind your distance, and your prep, and keep the face mask handy.
Mother and I would like to camp, and carry on like crazy,
But COVID-19 puts the cramp on that and makes it hazy.
Yankee Doodle all you want, Yankee Doodle dandy—
Though right now things are gaunt, life will again be handy.
