The Woman’s Club of Aurora invites the public to its presentation of “Little Black Dress” luncheon and fashion show Saturday, March 24 at Belle Salle Banquets, 1920 East New York Street, Aurora. Doors will open at 11 a.m. with opportunities for silent auction, cash-n-carry tables, raffles, door prizes, and a cash bar. Credit cards as well as cash and checks will be accepted. Donations for the silent auction and cash-n-carry tables are welcome.
Following the luncheon and welcome by president Judy Pessetti will be musical selections by Renee Hein. Mrs. Hein of Aurora originally formed The Legacy Girls, who frequently entertain as “The Andrew Sisters” for veterans embarking from Midway Airport in Chicago for their Honor Flight to Washington, D.C.. The program Mrs. Hein will present is “Yesterday Once More” with music tributes to the Carpenters, Elvis Presley, Patsy Cline, and others. Chairman Dawn Magana said that Club members will model contemporary fashions from Chico’s of Geneva Commons.
Proceeds will benefit the many philanthropies and scholarships of the Woman’s Club.
Among other items given this year are five $1,000. scholarships to Waubonsee Community College, full scholarship to Federation Art School at Eastern Illinois University, hundreds of dollars to Prevent Child Abuse Illinois, Healthy FamiliesVNA site, Mutual Ground, CASA, Aurora Township Youth Services, Keeler AID, Communities in Schools, Lifespring, Hines Hospital. In addition collections were taken for veterans gift cards to North Aurora Clinic, Interfaith Food Pantry and Easter Seals.
