Yorkville candy company Mars Wrigley sweetened a senior citizens’ bingo party Wednesday, Aug. 14.
Nine company associates handed out 50 swag bags of products to bingo winners at Senior Services Associates’ senior center. Approximately 120 seniors attended the noon event at the senior center at 908 Game Farm Rd. in Yorkville.
Chloe Jelenich, Mars Wrigley production scheduler and engagement team leader, led associates in the annual event sponsored by the company. For 15 games, Rich O’Connor called bingo numbers assisted by Tom Rich who recorded called numbers on a PC. Other associates delivered swag bags to game winners as numbers were called.
Jelenich said the bags contained Snickers and Milky Way candy bars, Skittle candies, Arctic/Excel mints plus samples of Doublemint, Hubba Bubba, Juicy Fruit, Freedent and Extra chewing-gums. Additionally, a “Senior Bingo 2024” T-shirt and M&M tumbler were included.
Center activity coordinator Amy Cummings said, “This is a group of individuals who annually give back to the community with this event.” She added that non-winners received bags of candy. Company associates also sponsored a snack at half time of the party.
