• Starting October 5, Yorkville Public Library will return to regular operating hours. The Library will be open Monday through Thursday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.. Face coverings must be worn in the building. Curb-side service will be available for those who do not want to enter the Library with a one-hour time limit in the building per day.
• Crafts To Go!, every Monday in October.
Stop for a craft kit which are available each Monday in the Library foyer while supplies last. Weekly craft kits include fire safety craft, Fall, Halloween.. Limit one kit per child.
• Drop In Story Time (virtual), every Friday on YPL Facebook.
Each Friday morning Ms Jennette will read a story on Yorkville Public Library Facebook.
• Book Club, first and second grades, Thursday, Oct. 8 and 15, 4:30 p.m..
In this two session book club, we will read the book, “Andy Shane and the Pumpkin Trick” by Jennifer Richardson Jacobson. It is an easy reader chapter book. Please register for both days on the YPL website. Face masks and social distancing are required.
• YA Teen Book Club, Friday, Oct. 9, 3 p.m..
Leah English will lead the group in a discussion about this month’s book, “Invictus” by Ryan Graudin. The book is available for pick up at the Youth Service desk. Please contact Leah at lenglish@yorkville.lib.il.us if you have any questions.
• Book Club, third through fifth grades, Tuesday, Oct. 13 and 27, 4:30 p.m..
In the two-session book club, the participants will receive the book “Bunnicula” by Deborah and James Howe October 13. Then it will be discussed at the next session, October 27. Please register for both days on the YPL website. Face masks and social distancing are required.

In YPL for Drop In Story Time with Ms Jennette, if weather permits, will be outside in the Children’s Courtyard. Please walk around to the back of the Library and enter through the courtyard gate.

• TAG, Teen Advisory Group, Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2:45 p.m..
Teens in grades eighth through 12th get together to share ideas about the teen area in the library. They help create and plan programs. This group has opportunities to earn volunteer hours. Great chance to meet new people and have some fun and laughs. Face masks and social distancing are required.
• Halloween Scavenger Hunt Thursday, Oct. 29. Please call for an appointment time
The library will be host to an outdoor scavenger hunt, weather permitting, for trick or treaters. This scavenger hunt uses clues to guide families to the next clue, then finally to a special surprise. We are limiting this program to 30 children and by appointment only. Please call 630-553-4354 ext. 108 for a 15 minute time slot between the hours of 10 a.m. and 5:45 p.m.. The appointment time is for the safety of your family to maintain social distancing. Costumes are optional.
• Window Art, October.
We are asking our young patrons to liven up the Library for Fall. If interested, you can request a window space to decorate, simply call the library at 630-553-4354 ext. 108 for a time. Depending on availability and library hours, you can choose the time and day. Space is limited.
