Poem: You Know Me By Sight

Share this article:

The fact I am immobile doesn’t mean I’m not alive;
My reputation is I cause good feelings to revive.
In fact, the very sight of me is aimed to give you lift,
And, in itself, that should be looked on as a valued gift.
That’s why I value what you think of me, and to what end;
Above all else, precisely so, I want to be your friend.
But, I admit, my claim to fame is just because of you.
It’s what and how you dress me up that makes me feel like new.
So, though I’m seasonal, the very mention of my name
Will bring about a needed lift—a gift I’m glad to claim
By this time, you have guessed who I am—colorful and free!
A living standard of the time, I am your Christmas Tree!
