1934 Woolworth Store Fire in Aurora

A fire broke out January 10, 1934 which destroyed the Woolworth Store in Aurora, 19-21 South Broadway. The fire took the lives of three Aurora firefighters: Captain John Petersohn, Captain Herbert Reiss, and Firefighter Charles M. Hoffman. Each January the worst fire in Aurora is remembered.
