Established by Members of the U.S. House of Representatives in 2013, the competition is a nationwide event that allows middle and high school students from across the country to compete by creating and exhibiting a software application, or “app,” for mobile, tablet, or computer devices on a platform of their choice.

The winner from the 11th Congressional District will be chosen by a panel of expert judges and featured on CongressionalAppChallenge.us. The winning app will be eligible to be showcased in the U.S. Capitol, and the winning students are invited to a Capitol Hill Reception in Washington, D.C. honoring the winners from across the country.

Submissions are due October 26, 2026. For more information about guidelines and how to submit, visit: foster.house.gov/app-challenge.
