Costumed reenactors are planning a May-September 2023 celebration of the 350th anniversary of the 1673 expedition by Louis Jolliet and Father Jacques Marquette. Two offer information at a booth Sunday, June 5, at Fox Valley Park District’s Mid-American Canoe and Kayak Race on the Fox River from St. Charles to Aurora. The landmark expedition led to the claiming of the land and water mass interior of what is now known as the United Sates of America for Louis XIV, King of France. Al Benson/The Voice
