The last day to register for the 5K Community Color Run will be Sunday, May 27. The race will be at Silver Springs State Park in Yorkville. Runners, joggers, and walkers of all ages are invited to participate in the second annual Color Fun Run! one-mile and 5K Saturday, June 2.
Every participant will receive a white Color Run T-shirt, an individual color packet, and a bib. Volunteers stationed along the run route will douse participants at three locations with a color spray. At the conclusion of the run, participants will toss their individual color packets up in the air to douse themselves and others around them. There is no time limit for the race; all runners can participate at their own pace.
“Last year’s event was a huge success and we are planning our second annual to be even bigger and more fun,” said Robyn Sutcliff, a member of the Grace Holistic Center for Education Board of Education and chairman of the race committee.
Check-in for the one-mile and 5K run will start at 9 a.m., with the races at 10 a.m. June 2. The registration fee for participants 12 and older is $25. and $12. for children 12 and under.
