Veggie Fest Chicago will have new vegetarian and vegan food booths this Summer, as well as the return of fan favorites. Veggie Fest will be on the grounds of Danada South Park at Navistar, Lisle, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. August 10-11. Admission and parking are both free.
Just a few of the recent additions to the huge international food court include four styles of vegan omelets, without eggs, buffalo cauliflower wings served with vegan ranch dip, of course, a nourishing Buddha bowl with quinoa, and a twist on the ever-popular avocado toast.
As always, the Caribbean Kitchen booth, a Veggie Fest favorite, will be back to tempt participants with crispy, spicy, veggie-chicken dishes. There’s a reason why individuals happily form long lines for these every year. If you’ve never experienced eating South Indian dosas, crispy lentil crepes filled with potatoes and onions, you’ve got a treat waiting for you at this popular booth.
Everyone will appreciate the variety of vegetarian entrees from the booths offering Chinese, Japanese, Indian, and Mexican foods, along with plenty of goodies your kids will love, including pizza and ice cream.
For lighter fare, there will be an organic salad booth, sip on a fruit smoothie, enjoy the juice bar, or grab a freshly-cracked open young coconut.
Whether attendees are into salty or sweet, Veggie Fest has baked goods, iced cappuccinos, and fresh fruits, in addition to nachos, fries, and veggie kabobs straight off the grill.
With the huge international food court; health professionals speaking on diet, lifestyle, and environmental issues; engaging food demos by restaurant owners, chefs, and authors; an incredible children’s tent with face-painting, clowns, and crafts; live music from some of Chicago’s best bands; and more than 100 vendor booths to explore, it’s easy to see why more than 40,000 individuals from around the world attended the two-day Veggie Fest in 2017.
