November busy for Oswego Senior Center

The Oswego Senior Center, 156 E. Washington Street, Oswego, will be host to many events for seniors in November. All events will take place at the Oswego Senior Center unless otherwise noted.

• Oswego Senior Center Cocktail Party Fundraiser, Friday, Nov. 1, 7 p.m. to 10 p.m..
Tickets are available for the Oswego Senior Center Cocktail Party fundraiser that will help support their programs. “Rock and Roll” Cocktail Party Fundraiser will be held at Whitetail Ridge Golf Club in Yorkville. The event will be casual dress, full of raffles, and entertainment along with open wine/beer bar, plenty of appetizers and dessert spread. Tickets are $35 per person; $30 per person age 60 or more.
This year’s event will have music from the 1960s and 1970s by Mike & Traci of Good Clean Fun Band. There will be a tribute to Elvis Presley.

• Pickle Ball, Every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, 9 a.m. to noon.
Pickle Ball is a low-impact sport that is easy to get the hang of for anyone who has played a racquet sport. It can be fairly fast paced with a court half the size of a tennis court. New, novice, or experienced players can join in on the fun. Experienced players will be on hand to help beginners! Join in anytime. Call 630-554-5602 for more information.

• OSC Holiday Craft Fair, Saturday, Nov. 16, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m..
The Fair will feature handmade items including jewelry, soaps, holiday trimmings, unique pet items, and wooden crafts, along with door prizes and food. Free admission to the public. Booth space for crafters, artists and artisans to sell your original, handmade items is available. Reduced registration has been extended through October 31. Gym floor space: One space, $50; two spaces, $70; three spaces, $85. Dining room space: One space, $40; two spaces, $55. Limited availability for electric. Must supply own table. • Gentle Yoga, Tuesdays, 11 a.m. to noon and Fridays, 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m..
Yoga can be a great way to exercise the aging body. In he gentle yoga class led by Neeta Mohanty, students can use a chair and modify positions for comfort and concerns. Single class fee is $3 or $15 for a monthly pass. Join in anytime.

• Tai Chi, Mondays, 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. and Fridays, 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m..
Tai Chi is a slow moving, fluid exercise that helps with balance, coordination, movement, agility and mindfulness. Under the direction of instructor Kristi Niedzwiecki, participants can find this form of exercise particularly good for joint stiffness. Single class fee is $3 or $15 for a monthly pass. Join in anytime.

• Line Dancing with Mary Love, Fridays, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m..
Whether a novice or a pro, Mary will get everyone dancing. Line dancing can help with balance, coordination, as well as memory and endurance while having fun. $1 class fee. Join in anytime.
