The city government of Naperville is seeking public feedback on a plan that gives details to the management and operation of Naperville’s sanitary sewer system. Public comment will be accepted through December 15. The City’s Capacity, Management, Operations and Maintenance (CMOM) plan is a full study of the Naperville’s sanitary sewer system. The CMOM plan is a part of the permit requirements to operate the Springbrook Water Reclamation Center.

“The public review period is an opportunity for Naperville citizens to understand and provide input on a report that impacts their daily lives,” director of water and wastewater utility Darrell Blenniss said. “As a City, we pride ourselves in being transparent and open to resident input. The Water Utility team looks forward to optimizing our City’s sanitary sewer system.”

Naperville’s full CMOM includes an action plan to correct identified structural deficiencies/capacity constraints; a formalized asset management program; design and performance monitoring; an Overflow Response Plan; a System Evaluation Plan; a Reporting and Monitoring Plan; and a Third Party Notification Plan. Hard copies of the document are available at all Naperville libraries and the Naperville City Clerk’s office. In addition, an online version will be available for public review on the City’s website at Naperville.il.us/napervillecmom. Feedback can be submitted to cmom@naperville.il.us through December 15.
