The Oswego Christmas Walk festivities included a Seussian twist on the traditional tree-lighting ceremony, ice-carving demonstrations, strolling carolers and characters, holiday music, and kids crafts and games.

The Oswego Walk emcee, Troy Parlier, Village president, and the converted Grinch point to the just-illuminated Christmas tree on Main Street in downtown Oswego Friday in the tradition to focus on the main Winter holiday. The two individuals shared the stage with other celebrants. The evening was ceremonial-holiday chilly without a frigid arctic blast. More than 80 festive stops were included for the walking participants. Parlier, the Grinch, and Cindy Lou Who, provided the Seussian twist in the tree-lighting ceremony at the corner of Main and Jackson, with assistance from the Fox Valley Park District stage. There were dance troupes, choirs from Bednarcik and Traughber Junior Highs, and a game of Christmas Goose Chase, led by the Oswegoland Park District. Other Oswego area organizations provided games, crafts, and prizes. The traditional silent, illuminated, fire truck parade by the Oswego Fire Protection District was a highlight.
