Compassion Foundation announces grant awards

The Compassion Foundation of Aurora announced its 2019 grant recipients and will award $43,500, its highest total annual amount ever, to 12 non-profits, helping those in need, including: Breaking Free, Mutual Ground, Kiwanis Club of Aurora (Coats for Kids), Tri City Family Services, Aurora Interfaith Food Pantry, CASA Kane County, Public Action to Deliver Shelter Inc., SciTech, CASA Kendall County, Giant Steps, Between Friends Food Pantry, Aurora Children’s Dental Service.

According to Compassion Foundation Board president Maureen McKanna, “the big success of our 2019 golf outings at both Aurora Country Club and Rich Harvest Farms, has allowed us to award more grant monies than ever before, in the history of the Compassion Foundation. We are so very grateful to our sponsors, golfers, donors, and supporters, for making this possible.

“Everyone is invited,” McKanna said, “to the Compassion Foundation’s 2020 Golf Outing slated for Monday, Aug. 3, at Aurora Country Club.”

The Compassion Foundation, celebrating its 32nd year, is committed to providing support to community- based organizations that work to help those in need. Since its inception in 1989, the Compassion Foundation has awarded nearly one million dollars in grants to organizations that focus on education, job training, physical and emotional well-being of children and adults, abating hunger, and life skills.
