A monthly food truck food court will replace the annual Food Truck Festival this year in downtown Aurora.
As the First Fridays sponsor, the Aurora Downtown organization continues to reimagine events to allow the community to gather in a safe way.
Food trucks will be part of First Fridays this year as the monthly event expands to include a food truck food court. The food trucks will be at the lot adjacent to 2 S. Broadway.
“Although we’ve canceled the festival this year, food vendors will still be a mainstay at downtown events. We’re excited to be able to grow First Fridays in this way and to be able to provide a variety of options, including outdoor dining opening soon at downtown restaurants,” said Marissa Amoni, manager of Aurora Downtown.
In April, food trucks Grumpy Gaucho, Home Run Dogs, Red Hot Dogs, Yum Dum, and Da Pizza Dude parked in the food truck food court Friday, april 2 and provided menu items such as empanadas, vegan hot dogs, bratwursts, and churros. The lineup will vary each month to include a rotating list of food vendors.
Aurora Downtown typically has been host to the Food Truck Festival at May’s First Fridays event.
First Fridays started in April this year, and the event will run through December with the exception of July. The next First Fridays will be May 7. Masks are required.
