Sunday evening into Monday morning, a devastating tornado touched down in Naperville on the Southeast side near 75th and Ranchview.
Many individuals help clean up debris in Naperville Monday after a tornado touched down in the Naperville area just south of 75th Street and Ranchview Drive Sunday, June 20 at approximately 11:10 p.m.. Eight individuals were injured, one critically. Approximately 130 homes were damaged, 22 uninhabitable, including one that was leveled. Woodridge and Darien received sustained damage. Due to the tremendous outpouring of support from the community, the city of Naperville is no longer taking names of individuals who want to participate in volunteer clean-up and relief opportunities. Residents who want to help local efforts are asked to make monetary donations through the Red Cross website, or food donations to local food pantries.Jason Crane/The Voice
Although the damage was still being realized, the men and woman of the Naperville Professional Firefighters were there searching homes, assisting in evacuation, and providing medical care. Along with our brothers and sisters from the Naperville Police Department FOP Lodge 42 and Naperville Electric Department IBEW 134, we were able to assist our community throughout the night.

The Naperville Professional Firefighters took an oath to protect the residents and visitors of Naperville, and it doesn’t stop when we punch out. Naperville Professional Firefighters will work with our membership as well as the Naperville Professional Firefighters for a Cause to help raise funds for those who were affected.
Results of the EF-3 tornado Sunday just prior to midnight, which touched Naperville, Woodridge, and Darien especially hard, is reflected in the upside-down car in the driveway of a house in Naperville.
