Pedestrian and bicycle bridge in Aurora

The ribbon-cutting ceremony is the signal for the opening of the Aurora downtown pedestrian and bicycle bridge over the Fox River which joins the West Side and East Side adjacent to the RiverEdge Park on Broadway. The scene June 11 is from Broadway looking to the West Side. One reason for the bridge, other than convenient access to the U.S. Post Office on the east side of Broadway (Route 25), is additional and easier parking for RiverEdge outdoor events. See the speed limit sign, top, left, for bicycles of 10 miles per hour. Jason Crane/The Voice
